4-27 pavement surface in that Lot at no additional expense to the De partment. Such remedial action may include but is not limited to removal and replacemen t of the unacceptable pavement. In the event remedial action is necessary, the Contr actor shall submit a written plan to the Resident outlining the scope of the remedial work. The Resident must approve this plan before the remedial work can begin. Following remedi al work, the Lot shall be retested, and will be subject to the specification limits liste d above. The resulting pay factor, if within the acceptable range, will be used in the fin al pay adjustment. The Contractor shall pay the cost of retesting the pavement followi ng corrective action. Localized surface tolerance defects will be subject to the prov isions outlined in Section

401.11 Surface Tolerances.

SECTION 403 - HOT MIX ASPHALT PAVEMENT

403.01 Description This work shall consist of constructing one or more courses of Hot

Mix Asphalt pavement on an approved base in accordance with the se specifications, and in reasonably close conformity with the lines, grades, thickness a nd typical cross sections shown on the plans or established. The HMA pavement shall be co mposed of a mixture of aggregate, filler if required, and asphalt material.

403.02 General The materials and their use shall conform to th e requirements of Section

401 - Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement.

403.03 Construction The construction requirements shall be as specified in Section 401

- Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement.

403.04 Method of Measurement Hot mix asphalt pavement will be measured as

specified in Section 401.21- Method of Measurement.

403.05 Basis of Payment The accepted quantities of hot mix asp halt pavement will be

paid for at the contract unit price per ton for the mixtures, i ncluding hot mix asphalt material complete in place. Method A, Method B, Method C and Method D sh all be used for acceptance as specified in Section 401 - Hot Mix Asphalt Paveme nts.
